Diego Velázquez

Diego Velazquez (1599-1660) was a baroque Spanish painter considered to be one of the most important painters in Spain.

“Las Meninas” is the culmination of the work of Velazquez and a masterpiece of the Spanish Golden Age. It was finished in 1656, and it was made when the artist was already mature. It is an Oil on Canvas of 318cm x 276 cm with three cloth bands sewed vertically where the figures at the front are portrayed at scale.
